I did when I first got here, but it seems like everyone is really open about it. It's not something I can do back home, so I kind of enjoy it here.

The kind that can actually turn into a wolf.

Me too. We should take a run one day.

Have you always been able to become a wolf?

[mantle]

Sort of. I was born that way, if that's what you're asking. But I kinda didn't know about it for most of my life.

[consequence]

Is it something that happens when you're older?

[mantle]

My Granny used to always make me wear this red cloak. She said it would keep me safe. That the color red repelled wolves. But it was actually everyone else that she was protecting. From me.

[consequence]

I was abandoned as a baby and adopted. So, my parents didn't have a clue what they were getting into. When I triggered the curse, I destroyed the living room and they kicked me out. I definitely didn't know what was going on, but I've spent the past years looking for answers about them.

[mantle]

I always thought my mother was dead. It would have been better if she was. I know that's a horribly wicked thing to say. But sometimes the past is best left there. When you go digging around in what's buried, you might not like what comes up to the surface.

[consequence]

That's definitely a true sentiment. I have a feeling both of us have had some pretty rough moments dealing with the past. Maybe we should press pause on the flashbacks and just get together for a drink.

That sounds like the best idea I've heard all day.
