[it isn't the first time he's seen a vampire from her world transform. but it's definitely the first time its happened so close to him. the first time that he's actually able to touch. lifting a hand to her face, he traces a finger over the tracks beneath her eyes, curiosity being enough to but a (brief) halt to the former proceedings.
there's a level of familiarity with her shift. with the fact it's only a change of features. if anything, this is more like his own transformation than her werewolf change is. it's not as extreme.
he smiles down at her as he draws his hand back, gaze flicking to her mouth. to the fangs peeking through.]
How hard is it? [wait-- that could mean anything.] Staying in control, I mean. [because he remembers what it was like when he was first bitten. and he hadn't had to deal with the need to feed on blood.]
[A smirk flashes on her features as he clarifies what he's trying to reference with his question.]
It's easier here. [Being on the ship has less complications, less people wanting to hurt her -- her child. The anger she felt when she first came back has had time to temper, to calm itself because there's nothing for her to do here. No Hope to protect, no Klaus to argue with over the safety of that child -- there's just space and the infinite nothing that comes with it.]
The wolf side keeps the hunger at bay and the rest of my senses just benefit from the vampire side. Where I used to just listen to the uptick of a heartbeat, now I can hear the flow of blood. It's an adjustment, but everything usually is. [She lets her fangs retract and her features return to normal, the darkness withdrawing from her eyes with a single blink. As if she just turns it off.]
