[it may not be her intention, but between her words and the closing distance, it feels far more intimate. far more like a secret meant to be kept between just the two of them, tucked away from the outside world. and in a lot of ways, it is. it's something he knows he can't talk to derek or scott about. knows that the other wolves, the other people who know her history, would look down on him for. would blame hayley for, even though it was his choice to be there in the first place.
it leaves his voice soft, quiet. his fingers itching to reach back out for the contact he broke off only moments before.]
As long as I'm here, you won't.
[he can't promise he'll be there indefinitely. not when the ship is so prone on sending people away without warning. but as long as he's there, as long as they both are, he can at least promise that much. that she won't lose whatever this is between them. he's not going to get scared off by the others.]
[She nods at him, reassuring herself more than him possibly, but she needs to just acknowledge what he said. She knows it's a huge thing to say, to make that sort of remark with everything else that seems to surround her.]
You still want that cocoa? [Hayley gestures over her shoulder, absently, trying to remove some of the tension that's there in between them now. There are other things she could say, even do, but in this moment she doesn't want to put anything else on whatever it is they just agreed to. There's no need to complicate it.]
[it's almost natural now, just how easily he slips between personas. with hayley's question comes a grin, amusement clear despite just what they'd been talking about. the moment was there, and now it's gone, and she's given him the opening to fall back on to more comfortable behaviors. sometimes it's easier to pretend that nothing can touch you. that nothing matters.]
What happened to being a bad influence?
[not that drinking alcohol is really at the top of his list, even if he were able to get drunk. the room is more than hot enough to draw that frost from his bones. to warm him through enough that his hoodie is finally able to be tugged off.]
[to drink. especially since being turned. there were always more important things getting in the way of living the regular, teenager life. and while he may have more free time up here, it still doesn't rank highly on his list of things to do.]
Between your room and mine? It's warmer here and the company's better. I'll take whatever you're offering.
[She nods, chewing on the inside of her cheek before she turns away from him and heads toward one of the small cabinets near her sink. She pulls out two glass tumblers and a bottle of scotch. For her, the taste has been acquired, but she's not so sure Isaac will handle it as well. The heat in her room also means there's not much hope of ice, but she doesn't mind that either. Pouring herself a healthy amount, she pushes the glass aside and fills the other with a bid of modesty.
Hayley will bring Isaac the glass and hand it to him.]
I have others... if scotch isn't the right fit for you.

I didn't think you could get drunk? [Look, she might have had a discussion with Derek about alcohol.] I have plenty of it...
If you want, I can get you that.
