what happened with klaus

[She looks at it for a while. She can only assume that Isaac knows Tyler and that she'd come up in casual conversation. Maybe a werewolf of the month club. Then Tyler went off and didn't really want to give details. Not that they matter. The details probably just make it worse. The point stands that now she's supposed to give details and it'll only dig her into a bigger hole.

Tyler's already made it clear where she stands and when you're in space and without anyone that you can consider a friend...]

I made the wrong choice. I got friends of mine killed, because I thought I was doing the only thing I could at the time.

[She sends that and figures that's going to be enough. It's confirmation that it was her fault. That she's the reason they're dead. Even Tyler's mom.]

Unless you want a more general klaus and tyler history without my screw-ups in there.

[because as far as he's aware, that's what this all boils down to. only option or not, she's the reason tyler doesn't have a pack anymore. and while the concept of a pack may not mean the same to all the werewolves he's met since first being bitten, the idea of losing a part of it still hurts. he doesn't know how tyler can manage with his entire pack gone.]

[So, Tyler is warning people about her. She's sure that's what happened. One goes to the other and then through the pack. She didn't know that Isaac had an alpha, let alone one that had been on board. Protection ran deep in packs. She could understand that.]

I made a deal with someone to help me find my parents. he needed 12 unsired hybrids in exchange for the information. i was desperate. i had searched for years and turned up nothing. the plan was falling apart and I panicked. I told klaus what tyler and I did. that we unsired them. that they weren't his anymore. he tracked them down and killed them. all of them. he killed tyler's mom out of being an asshole, really.

[She's pretty sure that she's just writing her own receipt for one lost ally.]

then i ran. i knew that even if i had told klaus what I did that he would still want me dead. that tyler would want me dead for what I did. it was chicken shit of me, but I'm not the best at making choices under pressure.

[there's a few minutes delay before his reply is sent. one spent typing and retyping his reply a few times. he knows he should be backing away from this completely. that derek wouldn't warn him about her if there wasn't a good reason to. and with hayley having pretty much given that reason, sticking around should be the last thing on his mind.

the original plan would've put tyler out of the way. but then things changed fast and i panicked. i texted shane. told him it was falling apart and he told me to fix it. he had answers for me and i made the wrong choice.

they were my friends too.

i'm not proud of what i did.

and if klaus came here idk what hed do. i was under his protection before i came here. i had information that i was trying to use to leverage for tylers freedom.

shane is the guy who said he could get me my parents back. he's the one that wanted the 12 unsired hybrids in exchange for the information. he lied to me

i knew they would die. klaus wouldn't have let them live once he found out they had broken the sire bond. even if i hadnt told him what tyler and i did. as soon as he found out he wouldve hunted them all down.

and if klaus would leave tyler and caroline alone here on this ship - if he would take me instead and leave them alone i would go with him.

i owe tyler at least that much.

if you knew that they'd end up dead, why did you agree in the first place?
i get that he said he knew how to find your parents, you really thought it was worth 12 people dying for it? for you?

shane would have had them killed, even if i hadn't told klaus. he needed the deaths so that he could bring down the veil between worlds. 12 from the council. 12 hybrids. 12 witches. it's called an expression triangle.

it would have brought my parents back. it would've brought them back too. at least that's what he told me. that they would die but then silas would bring them back.

look you already know I did something horrible. someone already warned you away from me and you're telling me that tyler doesn't need me to do anything. tyler already signed his threat so just get to yours and I'll leave you alone too.

[she pauses, then opts to send another one. Might as well go for broke. She's already screwed as it is.]

they gave me up. I didn't even know what I was and all I wanted was answers. years looking for them. trying to find anything. I stopped looking at everything else and just what I wanted. I screwed up. I didn't think beyond how great I thought it would be to actually get to talk to them. to ask them why. to see if maybe the reason they gave me up was because they thought that it'd keep me from getting this curse.

I did something that got the people I got out from under klaus killed. because I told klaus what we did, he killed tyler's mom. that's on me. tyler won't talk to me. katherine, up until a few minutes before I got here, wanted me dead. maybe that's what i deserve, but i'm not planning on getting tyler hurt here. i'm not going to sell you out or use anyone for leverage.

there's nothing left for me.

i thought it was pretty obvious where my pack stands here, so why would i bother threatening you?

he wanted 36 people dead and you're responsible for 12 of them. 13
even if he could bring them back, you still had them killed for it
i'm pretty sure stuff like that sticks
if tyler just isn't talking to you, you got off lucky

[Her hands run over her face. She's hunched over her comm, trying to figure out how to explain, how to make sure that he understands how she thought she didn't have any other choice. How quickly it all happened, but she knows that it doesn't matter. When she was running from Klaus she made a new deal with Katherine, then she was running from Katherine and had to make a deal with Klaus. It's all she's done since the pack died and she doesn't have anyone to make a deal with here. She's got nothing. She doesn't even want to reply to Isaac. It's clear that she can't explain it away. She doesn't even want to explain it away, but it's difficult to explain even to someone that was there -- let alone someone who just heard it through Tyler.

Shane... God, Shane and his unending quest to have that damn veil dropped. It seemed like a story, like a crock of bullshit, but he believed it so much. He convinced a guy to kill himself, to blow up eleven people with him. She could've easily just blamed Shane. He had held that information over her head for so long and she thought she'd just do one more thing, do one more thing and then she'd have what she wanted. She even tried to get out - to just steal the information and leave.

Somehow...

She was foolish and selfish. Now she's trapped on a ship with the truth just filling the dark hallways and she knows anyone that even remotely seems nice is gonna end up finding out. They'll do the same thing Isaac did.

She's not sure how to reply. She's almost positive there's no way to reply and so the message sits there unanswered for the longest time. Her hand tangling in her hair as she starts and stops a dozen times.]

I know.

[She doesn't feel like arguing the details, because she knows her part in it. She knows that she told Klaus. She'd stood up to him, pushed Tyler to lead, she'd done everything thinking that she could just line it all up and then let Shane do the rest. She could've been gone. Instead, Shane told her to fix it and she did.]

[there isn't a reply to this. partly because he doesn't know what to say, and partly because he currently has a certain alpha reading over this conversation. even once he does have his comm back he doesn't respond. instead, he just reads over the conversation once himself, before closing it down. he...needs to think
